Physical Condition
First thing we do when we are diagnosing a chromebook is to look over the whole device. Look at the plastics for chips or cracks. Look around the ports for damage. Below are some major things to pay attention to.
Here is a list of chromebook parts names and descriptions.
LCD
How does the LCD panel look? Is there a visible crack before you even turn it on?
Plastics
When you look over the device do you see any plastic damaged? Are there any openings that would allow debris inside the device? If so, you might want to replace or repair that part.
Hinges
Are the hinges flexing properly? Do they flex all the way back? Are they sturdy or loose?
Screw Anchors
his category is tricky. A lot of times broken screw anchors can go unnoticed until the device is opened up for repair already. Common areas for broken screw anchors are on the back cover and the bottom cover.
